The nomination deadline for 2024 Branch awards will be February 15, 2024.
Help us recognize our branch’s best by submitting nominations for the awards below. Nominations should include a paragraph on how the person, group, or organization meets the award criteria.
Nominations should be sent to Charlotte Ridge.
Award recipients will be recognized at the annual Branch Awards Reception.
OUTSTANDING WOMAN
The Outstanding Woman Award is presented to a branch member who has given meritorious service to our branch and the community.
MEMBER MAKING A DIFFERENCE AWARD
The Member Making a Difference Award is given to a branch member who has made a big difference in something important to the branch within the last year. The branch selects this recipient because they exemplify the spirit of AAUW.
GATEWAY TO EQUITY AWARD
The Gateway to Equity Award honors an individual, group, or organization that has promoted AAUW’s mission of advancing equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, or research. The nominator should know the individual, group, or organization and be able to identify several ways in which it meets award criteria.
EXTERNAL AWARDS
JUNIATA COLLEGE AAUW AWARD
AAUW Huntingdon Branch has provided an endowment, the income from which is awarded at Juniata College’s Spring Honors Convocation, for an award to a deserving woman student from the Huntingdon area who plans to attend graduate school following graduation from college. The winner is selected by the Juniata College faculty.
HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR STUDENT AWARDS
AAUW Huntingdon Branch presents this book award each year to a senior high school girl from each of the four county high schools who is continuing her education after high school. These award winners are selected by high school guidance counselors based on good citizenship and significant contribution to the school and community. Whenever possible, winners are recognized by the branch and in The Daily News.
